Dodge Ram 2500 4x4

Used mainly on local delivery work on and off road, this year 2000 Ram has a 5.9 litre Cummins diesel engine making 285bhp and 580ft/lb of torque which makes light load of a 3.5 ton trailer. Although legally downrated for the UK at a GVW of 3.5 ton & a GCW of 7 ton, it is originally rated at 4 ton & 9 ton respectively, so it has plenty in reserve when operating at UK weights. These Rams are designed for heavy duty use with a 3 ton rating on the back axial. Now fitted with a straight though Banks Engineering 4 inch exhaust and power elbow, with a Van Aaken diesel tuning module to further enhance power and torque. The Cummins engine is reputedly good for over 300,000 miles before requiring a rebuild in this application due to the relative light weight of the vehicle for the engine displacement. Diesel Ram’s make great general purpose trucks and return at least 20mpg. No other European pickup can seat 6 people and still carry one ton in the 6 foot six inch bed. The more common V8 petrol engines only give about 17mpg which can drop to 11mpg when towing making the diesel a much more practical vehicle for commercial use.
