Motor Sports Timing Equipment for Drag Racing, Sprinting & Hill Climbing

TFT Timing (formally FOE Timing) manufacture a complete range of motor sports timing equipment. We can supply customised systems, from a basic speed trap, to sprint, hill climb and complete drag racing systems. Our systems are now in wide use in the UK for motor sports, speed and performance testing of both cars and motorcycles. Please note that we do not supply equipment for law enforcement applications!

Most systems are built to specific customer requirements and therefore there is no such thing as an off the shelf product. This custom design of the equipment results in a product specifically designed for your application, so you don’t have to make do with limited features or something not ideally suited to your application as with equipment supplied from other manufacturers. With all our equipment we give on site training and unlimited telephone and on site support.

All system control units are supplied in a 19 inch rack chassis in either 3U, 6U or 9U height. Each control box function has a dedicated plug in module. This enables customised equipment to be easily built up exactly to customer specifications. The plug in nature also gives a degree of versatility in the field, enabling, for example, a faulty module to be easily exchanged for another in a matter of minutes:- essential if you have hundreds of competitors queuing up to race while you are fixing a problem. The above picture shows a 9U chassis for drag racing, with timing modules for elapsed time and speed, split time and speed and 60ft/or reaction time. The picture below shows a close up of the drag racing control module, which has lane handicap delay, auto or manual startline control, optional guard beam facility, win light and full tree control. Most systems now use a Pro Tree only, but a countdown or sportsman tree is available.

Infra red beams are designed for field applications and are easy to set up, even in adverse weather conditions. The beams are also modular in design, again enabling faulty or damaged equipment to be quickly replaced.
